Congratulations to our January 2010 Greek of the Month Megan Bonny!
Megan has been active in bringing her chapter and our Greek Community together with other clubs on campus, including the Womens Rugby Team. She is an active participant on this team, in her chapter and in her community.
A member from her chapter who nominated Megan says, "She put out a positive image to others that college women are strong and able to balance not only a rough sport but also school work and other activities. Megan has made sure she is seen in a light to others that is encouraging and open."
Her ability to excel in scholarship and leadership is inspiring to others. She is not the leader that is outspoken, but instead looks to listen first. "She is always there to talk to if someone needs a shoulder to lean on and constantly portrays the qualities that we want our members to have."
Thanks to Megan for working to better our community and being a good friend to all!

Congratulations, Nicole Claudon, our November Greek of the Month!
As her chapter’s president, Nicole is “the most selfless individual I’ve had the pleasure of meeting thus far.” She was nominated for going “above and beyond what I means to be a sister and a friend” while maintaining such a stressful position within her sorority.
Julie would love to learn from Nicole “how to balance all that she does and maintain a positive attitude,” as well as “a mother to many.” Nicole has been a strong asset to the community and her chapter by promoting the image of all sorority women every day.
As Panhellenic vice president of media relations-elect, she has shown dedication to betterment of the Greek community and gives back every day.
She displays core values of Greeks by “striving in scholarship, staying home on weekends to take care of her sick sisters, and continually gives back to the community.” Thank you, Nicole, for being such a great example of our Greek lives!

Congratulations, Makenzie Kellogg!
“Makenzie is a driven, smart and compassionate individual,” Alpha Chi Omega Vice President Recruitment Sadie Wigginton said about her sister Mackenzie Kellogg.
Makenzie keeps a positive attitude no matter what and searches for solutions instead of complaining about a negative situation. If stranded on a deserted island, Sadie hopes that Makenzie “would teach me how to get off the island because she really is that driven!”
Last year, as her chapter’s community service chair, Makenzie worked hard to make the holidays special for those less fortunate. “[Makenzie] contacted all of our local elementary school counselors in hopes to find a family that our Chapter could adopt for Christmas,” Sadie said. “We found family who had just bought a house and couldn’t afford Christmas. So she organized a gift drive in our Chapter according to their wants and needs.”
Thank you, Makenzie, for being such a fabulous Greek!

Congratulations, Alison Scott!

The women of Panhellenic nominate Panhellenic President Alison Scott as August Greek of the Month. Ali devotes hours each week to the betterment of the Greek community with her work on Panhellenic, and she also came through in a big way for sorority Recruitment.
“Not only does Ali work hard throughout the year,” Vice President of Media Relations Elizabeth Boss said, “but when Chrissy was sick, Ali stepped in to not only complete her presidential tasks, but also the recruitment duties - all to make sure our Panhellenic sister get better.” Ali’s cheerful attitude and thorough recruitment knowledge was the key to success for women’s 2009 formal recruitment. “Without Ali’s guidance, our council would have fallen apart.”
Ali supports our community every day: from her service on council, commitment to academic excellence, Panhellenic leadership and excellent sisterhood. “Ali is a great example of an ideal Greek,” Boss said.
Thank you, Ali, for being a true leader!

Congratulations, Vanessa Bader!
Membership Vice President Brittany Alexieff nominated her assistant, Vanessa Bader of Gamma Phi Beta as March Greek of the Month. Vanessa shows an excellent example of Greek leadership by working hard to the new members. She makes the new member’s lives easier by helping them understand the core values of their chapter and being a positive role model.
Vanessa has a lot to teach others, especially when it comes to perseverance. Brittany said she is inspired by her ability to keep a positive attitude and “keeps fighting for what she thinks is right,” even when it’s the hard thing to do.

Congratulations, Tracey Hale!

McKensie Gelber has nominated Tracey Hale of Gamma Phi Beta. On top of being a stellar member of Gamma Phi Beta, she is "the hardest working Philanthropy Chair Gamma Phi Beta has ever had!" She is a freshman with a demanding position, and an amazing grade point average at a 3.8.
According to McKensie, Tracey has a lot of knowledge to share with others. "I would hope to learn about hard work and dedication," McKensie said, "traits that Tracey exhibits every time I see her."
All around, Tracey exemplifies Greek values in her life every day. She is a strong leader and contributes to the community by getting Gamma Phi Beta more involved in philanthropic activities, she takes out extra time to help out with her sisters, and has an exceptional scholastic record.

Congratulations, Ali Forsyth!

The women of Alpha Gamma Delta nominated Ali Forsyth, the chapter's Vice President of Scholarship. Beyond her position and demanding course load, "she dedicates the majority of her time to helping others," President Marie Zebroski said. "You can usually find Ali tutoring women in math and history, correcting papers, giving advice, running errands for others and finding a way to make someone’s day easier or the chapter better."
Ali has a lot of knowledge to share with the rest of the Greek Community. If stranded on an island with Ali and a Rubik's Cube, you could learn how "to be an amazing student and how to excel in math, generosity, how to be calm and caring but still firm and an effective leader and also just how to be a genuinely nice person," as well as how to solve that tricky 3-D puzzle.
Ali is a wonderful role model and an asset to the Greek community through her scholarship, leadership, community service and sisterhood. Thanks, Ali, for being such a phenomenal Greek! |
